Maria Diamond Authors Article on Ahlborn Medicaid Expansion Repeal

In the March 2018 issue of Trial News (published by the Washington State Association for Justice), Maria Diamond authored an article outlining a part of the new Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 that repeals Medicaid’s expanded lien recovery rights, known as the Ahlborn repeal, which was effective from October 1, 2017, until February 9, 2018. As Maria states, “Ahlborn is reinstated as the law of the land. From this point forward, states cannot take more than their fair share of a Medicaid recipient’s legal settlement/award in a tort case . . . .”
